Handel’s Messiah

Just before Christmas every year our church presents Part I of Handel’s Messiah, the Christmas portion, with the Hallelujah chorus. A community chorus of some one hundred singers rehearses for two weeks, and is joined by a twenty-piece chamber orchestra and professional soloists for the performances. No tickets are needed; just plan to arrive early for your favorite seat. A $20.00 per person donation is suggested for the collection at the performance.

In 2012 the soloists will be:  Adele Crawford, soprano, Jonathan Blalock, tenor, Linnea Conley, mezzo soprano and Daniel Schlorff, bass.

The 2012 performances will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 15 & 16, at 4:00 pm both days.

Join the Chorus: If you have choral skills, you are encouraged to join the chorus for our 46th annual Messiah concert. This year there is only one choir rehearsal on Monday, December 10 from 7:30-10:00 pm in the sanctuary. There will also be a dress rehearsal with orchestra on Wednesday, December 12 from 7:30-9:30 pm. There is a refundable score deposit of $20. There are no auditions; everyone is welcome.
