Valentines for Edgehill
In Church School and in FCCOG’s Preschool each year, students make cards for the community of Edgehill!
Cards then get handed out to residents during the annual Valentine’s Day Tea social event hosted by First Church Caring Ministries Committee.
Easter Egg Dyeing & Hunt
Each Saturday before Easter we host both egg dyeing and an egg hunt! Bring your hard-boiled eggs from home, and join us to dye eggs together in community. Gather with friends and family for this special annual tradition. Newer to our celebration is the Easter Egg Hunt! Hunt for eggs in appropriate age groups, offered for all ages up to 6th grade. But, we always need helpers to hide the eggs!
2nd Grade Communion
During a student’s second grade year, they will be immersed in a special class about all communion! They will learn
about the elements, why we celebrate the eucharist, and prepare to receive a special communion as a class during our Celebration Sunday worship service.
3rd Grade Bibles
During a student’s third grade year, they will be immersed in a special class about The Bible! They will learn about the Old Testament, and New Testament, and together grow in understanding of how to read scripture. Third graders receive their own personalized Bibles during our Celebration Sunday worship service.
Celebration Sunday
Celebration Sunday is a special worship service celebrating all things Church School and Children and Youth at the end of the program year. In this service, the second grade class will take communion together, and the third grade class will receive their Bibles!
Blessing of The Animals
Each fall, we invite families of all ages to bring their beloved pets to the church for a pet blessing! From bunnies to dogs, lizards and more – all will be blessed (and likely receive many pets). We even have some extra special farm animals come and visit us, like goats and chickens!
Trunk or Treat
Around Halloween each year, we host a Trunk-or-Treat event in the parking lot of FCCOG! In the past we have had food trucks, specialty cars, and even a fire truck. This family friendly event is for the whole community. You can even vote on which trunk is decorated the best!
Advent Craft Fair
Love to make crafts, or want to make a craft you maybe never have before? Join us at the Advent Craft Fair for crafts such as Advent Wreaths, Clove Oranges, Yarn Gnomes, Pet Treats, Pine Cone Angles, Paper Bag Snowflakes, Puffy Photo Ornaments, and more! Crafts are designed with all ages and skill sets in mind, for the youngest amongst us and those young at heart. Plus, Santa Claus has been known to stop by and take pictures with all our families!
Nativity Pageant
Students of all ages are invited to be involved in the Christmas Eve 3 pm Nativity Pageant! There are no speaking parts to have little ones rehearse. Families come to pick out costumes the week before and do a simple walk-through so all are comfortable. There is a place for everyone to participate, even the very youngest ones. We hope you’ll join us!
