The Prayer Shawl Ministry is a vibrant, active, caring ministry to our congregation and community at large. Our shawls, hand-knitted with prayers for healing and hope, are given to members or friends who are experiencing illness, loss or other life challenge. These shawls symbolize God’s unconditional love and presence in our lives and our congregation’s caring and support.
Currently, we have more than thirty knitters, knitting prayers into these beautiful, embracing shawls. This year we have presented several dozen shawls to people who have needed a little extra encouragement. Presentations of prayer shawls are made by many people, often by visiting pastors or friends. We also donated a prayer shawl and information to the recently begun Healing Shawl Ministry at Greenwich Hospital.
We continue to search for knitters and others willing to contribute yarn, gift bags or funds in order to sustain and expand this worthwhile ministry. Join us and experience the joy of and commitment to our mission.
