Every four years since
the late 60s First Church has presented Benjamin Britten’s chancel opera
NOYE’S FLUDDE. The last performances took place in November of 2005. The
cast and orchestra is made up of professionals and amateurs representing a
broad spectrum of our congregation and community. The involvement of so many
people, spanning the generations, in such a massive artistic endeavor has
made this a beloved tradition.
In 2005, Stage Director/Choreographer Andrea Andresakis brought new insights
to the production, including expanded dance elements in the storm, a central
part of the piece. Bill Bonnell designed a new set and built it with the
help of church volunteers. Deborah Bonnell developed other new design
elements.
The next production here will be in 2009. Watch for it!
