The Chancel Choir, ages 18 and older, is a dedicated group of volunteer and professional singers who provide music for Sunday worship throughout the year and is directed by Craig Symons, Minister of Music/Organist. Weekly rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm in the Choir Room, located on the third floor. Child care can be provided by prior arrangement with the Minister of Music. On Sunday mornings, the choir meets at 9:00 am in the Meetinghouse for a thirty-minute warm up. Between the warm-up and the 10:00 am service, choir members share pastries, treats, and coffee as they continue the fellowship time.
The Chancel Choir participates in various events in the church and the community, including the annual Messiah performance, a Good Friday evening concert, Music Sunday and Spring Festival of the Arts performances, which have included Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Brahms Requiem and others.
