The Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir ages 18 and older, is a dedicated group of volunteer and professional singers who provide music for Sunday worship throughout the year and is directed by Craig Symons, Director of Music/Organist. Weekly rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 pm in the Choir Room, located on the third floor. Child-care can be provided by prior arrangement with the Director of Music. On Sunday mornings, the choir meets at 9:00 am in the Meetinghouse for a thirty-minute warm-up. Between the warm-up and the 10:00 am service, choir members share pastries and treats as they continue the fellowship time. The Chancel Choir participates in various events in the church and the community, including the annual Messiah performance, a Good Friday evening concert, Music Sunday in May and will wrap the year up with a special performance of Mendelssohn’s epic oratorio, Elijah, with special soloists and full orchestra on Friday May 4, 2012.
