Handel’s Messiah

Just before Christmas every year First Church presents Part I of Handel’s Messiah, the Christmas portion, with the Hallelujah chorus. A community chorus of some one hundred singers rehearses for two weeks, and is joined by a twenty-piece chamber orchestra and professional soloists for the performances. No tickets are needed; just plan to arrive early for your favorite seat. A $ 20.00 per person donation is suggested for the collection at the performance.

If you have choral skills, you are encouraged to join the chorus for Messiah. Rehearsals take place Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, beginning two weeks before the performances. There are no auditions; everyone is welcome. The singers always have a great time. Just ask one!
