Women’s Fellowship (and Hats Off)

You might not know it, but if you are a woman and a member of our church then you are a part of Women’s Fellowship. Our mission is to bring together the women of the church through social events, service projects, and educational opportunities.

We are an intergenerational group with a big history. Women have always made up a very important part of the Christian church and it is no different here at First Congregational. Since its founding, the women of the congregation have been a strong asset, a big part of the leadership, and brought a vibrant spirit to our common life.

Today, through our activities and meetings, we offer opportunities for worship, study, service and friendship. We hold annual women retreats in the fall and the spring, have once a month social get-togethers, meet on Thursday mornings for book group, and run The Rummage Room, a very successful thrift store in Old Greenwich. Proceeds from The Rummage Room go to support organizations that aid women and children. Through The Rummage Room, we help fund many worthwhile local national and international charities.

And…we are growing all the time!

Watch for our announcements during the year and please consider being an active part of this vibrant and vital ministry in our church!

As women of First Congregational Church, our mission is to deepen and share our faith through:

Women’s Fellowship Spring Brunch and Quilt Raffle

Who: Women’s Fellowship (all women of the church & guests)
What: Catered Brunch with guest speakers
Where: First Congregational Church Auditorium
When: Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 11:30 am
(The quilt raffle will end this special morning together)
Cost:  Lunch reservations by check for $10/person are a MUST.  Please make checks payable to Women’s Fellowship, Attn:  Irene Savage, and send or leave at the church office by Sunday, May 13.  We regret that we cannot accomodate reservations by phone, walk-ins, or reservations without payment.

Hats Off

Do you like to read? Then try Hats Off!
Interested in being a part of a social group and getting to know members of the church? Do you like to read and discuss what you are reading? Then please join us on Thursday mornings in the lounge, 10am to 11:30 for socializing, getting to know one another and exploring this month’s book, announced in the Sunday church bulletin.

We as women wear many hats (mother, spouse, sister, daughter, grandmother, career woman, volunteer, employer and employee…) and on Thursday mornings (fall, winter and spring) we come together as ourselves, take off our many hats and simply enjoy ourselves!
