Veterans’ Day Collection Drive

November 10

The Women's Fellowship is sponsoring a Veterans' Day Drive in support of ABRI-Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport. Since 2011, ABRI-Homes for the Brave has expanded its programs to serve female homeless veterans. Female Soldiers: Forgotten Heroes is the first community-based transitional supportive housing program dedicated specifically to female veterans in the State of Connecticut.  We will be collecting items for the wish lists below on Sunday, November 10.  Top Needs for Female Soldiers: Blow Dryers and Flat Irons Blankets…

Our two "Giving Trees" this year will be ready on Sunday, November 17 and displayed in the church hallway until December 4. This is our 14th year of bringing holiday blessings to some communities First Church supports. The trees will display color-coded paper ornaments describing a specific gift wish from residents at Pilgrim Towers, a senior residential community in Stamford, or our friends at H.O.M.E. This kicks off our big annual outreach project benefiting many charities. The Annual Christmas Tree & Wreath Sale begins on Saturday, November 30 at 9:00 a.m. with the delivery of 500 fresh cut Fraser and Balsam Fir trees from New Hampshire, and over 200 balsam wreaths, roping, and kissing balls! Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tribute Band Show

53rd Annual Messiah Concert

Since 1966 First Congregational Church has presented Part I of Handel’s Messiah, the Christmas portion, concluding with the Hallelujah chorus. The First Church Festival Chorus, 75 singers strong, is accompanied by the First Church Chamber Orchestra. The 53rd annual performance will take place on Saturday, December 14, at 4:00 pm.
