Ministry to Children and Families
Overview

First Church takes to heart its commitment (reiterated at every baptism) to nurture the children of our community.

• Child Care Every Sunday The Baby Nursery is for our youngest members through age 12 months.
  Our Toddler Nursery is for ages one and two years old.

• Church School - Almost every Sunday, our young people take part in Church School. Classes start with the three and four year olds and continue through middle school. While each level has age appropriate instruction and activities, the overview is a journey of growth and maturity in faith leading to confirmation into church membership.

• Pre-School - First Church also operates a professionally-staffed Preschool for three and four-year olds chartered by the State of Connecticut. The First Church Preschool is non-sectarian and non-denominational, and is open to children of all ethnic and religious backgrounds. Children of members of the church are afforded an early enrollment opportunity for this perennially fully-booked program.

At First Church we want our children and their families to know that they are precious in the sight of God; that they are never forgotten, never deserted, always forgiven, and always loved by their Creator. Desiring that they grow in faith and deepen their devotion to God, we seek to support and nurture them on their journey.
